If you were looking for something that you could assemble yourself, then unless you are really pretty handy on the construction side of things and have plenty of spare time, then think again. You’re going to need to hire in a couple of guys with a construction background to assemble this for you.

You’re going to need plenty of space to build this but WOW, if you have space then this will definitely be the first place you head to when you want to escape the day to day stresses that life throws at us. You know you’ll probably find yourself spending more time in here than you ever thought you would, it’d be like being on holiday but at home.

To be clear this is our high-end choice and as such, it costs more than our top pick but for your money you get a lot of square footage, 1336 sq feet to be exact. You’ll be no doubt be wondering what this actually looks like in terms of living space. The picture’s below will help to give you an idea of what the layout looks like.

The picture below show’s the upstairs layout, you can change things around to suit your own needs of course, but this just gives you an idea of what you can fit into the space.

The downstairs interior space of 237 Sqf is enough for comfortable use with the upstairs loft space of 86 Sqf also being a very usable area. There’s a decked area to the front and left-hand side where you can put a table and chairs and relax in the shade courtesy of the overlapping roof.

Nordic wood is the choice again for this Log Cabin Kit, it provides strength to the structure and is an excellent choice for this kind of building. Now, this is the thing, this is our Mid Range choice but build quality wise this kit comes as standard with the same build specifications found in the much more expensive kits available.

Take the wall thickness as an example of what I just said, it’s 2-3/4″ (70 mm) the same as the previous two Log Cabin Kit reviews, and they are more expensive kits. This means you get the same Snow load capacity values, that’s 46 lbs/sqft as standard, but you also can upgrade to the 70 lbs/sqft or 96 lbs/sqft if you need to.

That’s the thing here, you really are getting value for money with this kit, because again the sizing of the wood used means that the Wind load capacities are the same as the more expensive kits, that’s 120 mph with 2-3/4″ walls and if you want to go for the upgrade option then it’s 140 mph with 3-5/8″ walls. With an internal floor space of 113 Sqf, this still gives you plenty of options as to what you can with that space. Ideally, this should be a summer house where you could go to and relax, maybe even an office area so you can keep your work away from your main house or at a push a spare room for guests to stay, but remember it doesn’t have a bathroom.

The wood used is Nordic Spruce, as we’ve mentioned before, an excellent choice for this kind of use. A wall thickness of 1-3/4″ (44 mm) is obviously thinner than the previous models we’ve looked at, but this is our budget option.

The walls go together using the Dual Tongue Windblock pattern method as shown in the picture, this really does add strength to the construction when it’s all slotted into place.

When all the walls are built up you get a wall height of 6’5″ and a ridge height of 8′ 3″ so still roomy enough to make a nice cozy place to enjoy.

One thing to note here is that the roof shingles and foundation materials are not included with this kit, so this is another added expense that you need to be aware of and factor into your budget.

Now, what about actually putting this kit together. The manufacturer states that the assembly of this solid wood cabin should take about one full day for two adults. We say give yourself plenty of time, especially if you are not that used to assembly techniques, better still get some hired help, although this will obviously mean additional expense.
